The classes will extend you beyond the normal Modern-Smooth jive and enhance your dance plus musical interpretation, We will take you on a journey with new ideas for your dance in style and musical interpretation, plus your connection with the music, and partner to add a new chapter of your dance progression.
We can now take credit /Debit card payments on-site and on our website. However, we still prefer cash on entry to a venue.
Pricing: £7 for the whole night, including 2 classes, social dancing till 10:45pm, a licensed bar and chilled water.
If you come to our Monday class night at St Ives you can get a discount on Thursday evening with a reduction of £2 to the normal Thursday price. This also will work the other way around. Come on Thursday night and get a reduction of £2 at St Ives on Monday evening.
The bar pricing at the British Legion is at club prices. However, if you are a member of the British Legion Club (Yaxley) you will get a further discount on bar drinks, membership can be arranged at the bar. We ask you not to bring your own alcohol to the venue as there is an on-site bar, but water bottles are accepted and chilled water will be at the venue for your top ups.
Illumination Dance is a new concept for the Peterborough area where we aim to play music which teases your inner dancer to come out. You could be someone at any stage of your dancing that is no longer satisfied dancing to the mainstream music you hear regularly in modern jive on a week-by-week basis. You may be looking for something a little more chilled, lyrical or expressive, enabling you to dance more musically to what you hear, we will be playing a variety of Upbeat music You might want to fuse your modern jive, Smooth Jive with other styles, such as WCS, Tango, and Blues, letting you vary your mood throughout the evening. You could even just be hoping to finish a dance and be able to say to your partner “wow I didn’t know I could dance like that”. If any of these descriptions sound close, Illumination Dance is the place for you to come and dance. We welcome dancers that want to explore musical expression and enjoy music that is always interesting and occasionally challenging. You’ll find dancers of all levels of experience and ability, with the common aim that they enjoy dancing to good music. Illumination Dance has found the best of locations and venues to cater to all tastes of dancers.
