Illumination Dance welcomes you to our Glitz & Glamour Ball, a 3-Room with Modern Jive, Expressive, and Modern Blues/tango fusion, to be held at the Corn Exchange at St Ives on Saturday, 12th July 2025. Dancers rave about our annual New Year’s Eve Eve (NYEE) event on 30th December, and now our Masquerade Ball and how they’d like us to repeat it more often, and we’ve listened.
Firstly. We have listened to you, our customers, on what you would like at our three-room events. It has been mentioned that the Expressive Room is too popular in its current location in the Flexi Rooms on the 1st floor.
After the NYEE 2024, we put out a survey on what you would like to change, and we had an overwhelming response to this request.
We put three options in the survey and the the one that came out on top, was to start with the expressive room upstairs and Modern Jive down stairs, then at 10:30 pm to flip the two rooms so the after 10:30 pm we will bring the Expressive, Modern Blues room in to the Main Hall and relocate the Modern Jive up stairs.
This was a majority of 63%, where its nearest rival was only 24%, so a migratory for 3 to 1 in favor of the change.
So we have listened to you, and for a trial, we will start this operation on the 12th of July 2025 Glitz and Glamour Ball. If proven to be a successful change, we will follow the trial on the next major event, which will be at our NYEE 2025 on the 30th of December 2025. Thank you for all your comments and support of this event.
Secondly, we are running a Licensed Café bar at this event,
This is being run by the Corn Exchange and will include alcoholic drinks plus tea & coffee all can be purchased from the upstairs Cafe bar.
The Corn Exchange has requested that no personal alcoholic drinks be brought into the venue by our dancers.
There were reports of drinks being used and left at our Mask ball in 2023.
So please support us and keep this facility available at our main event through 2023 and beyond.
The Event: The Glitz & Glamour Ball is an opportunity for you to dress to impress and join 200 other dancers for a night of great music and dancing. Hosted at the superb, air-conditioned, Corn Exchange in St Ives, you’ll be treated to a 3-room feast of music, dancing, and food from 8:00 pm all the way through to 1:00 am. Our 3 rooms offer different genres of music with dedicated DJs. In the Main Hall Pete Shillito and DJ, Neil will be playing both favorite and new modern jive tracks to keep you on the floor all night. Chris Jones and Dave Ottley will be running the Illumination room upstairs for those that want their music a little more expressive and we’re also lucky to have John Howard join us to run the Alt Tango/Blues fusion room upstairs as well. you’re sure to have a great night of dancing. And to help you replenish your energy later we’re serving our traditional St Ives food feast at 10:30pm, setting you up for the last 2 hours of dancing. Tickets are available at an early-bird price of £13 per person up until Monday 6th March, rising to £16 per person after that.
