Illumination Dance is a new concept for the St Albans area where we aim to play music which teases your inner dancer to come out.

You could be someone at any stage of your dancing that is no longer satisfied dancing with the mainstream music you hear regularly in modern jive. You may be looking for something a little more chilled, lyrical or expressive, enabling you to dance more musically to what you hear. You might want to fuse your modern jive with other styles, such as WCS, Tango, and Blues, letting you vary your mood throughout the evening. You could even just be hoping to finish a dance and be able to say to your partner “wow I didn’t know I could dance like that”. If any of these descriptions sound close then Illumination Dance is the place for you to come and dance. We welcome dancers that want to explore musical expression and enjoy music that is always interesting and occasionally challenging. You’ll find dancers of all levels of experience and ability, with the common aim that they enjoy dancing to good music.

Illumination Dance has found the best of locations and venues to cater to all tastes of dancers. With the best DJ’s, Best sound and lighting systems, also with the best venues in the best locations, we believe we have a winning combination, for our dancers.

Illumination Dance brings a different concept in dance for currently in the St Albans & Cambridge areas with new venues coming to the group in 2021 with our Illumination (Light) Expressive Freestyle. Our aim is to give our dancers a range of music, of a variety of genres and tempos, which teases out that more expressive dancer that is deep inside all of us. You could be someone, at any stage of your dancing, that is no longer satisfied dancing with the mainstream music you hear regularly in modern jive freestyles. You might want to fuse your modern jive with other styles, such as WCS, Tango, and Blues, letting you vary your mood throughout the evening. You may be looking for music that is a little more chilled, or perhaps more lyrical or expressive, giving you the backdrop to dance more ‘musically’ to what you hear. You could even just be hoping to finish a dance and be able to say to your partner “wow I didn’t know I could dance like that”. The normal Door price for a freestyle in 2022 will be £12 Tickets booked in advance will remain at £10 An alternative option is, by putting on Facebook you are going to this event at least 5 days before the event date, we will reduce the Door price to £11 in Lieu with your support. Also, in 2023 we still prefer cash as the main method of payment but will be adding the facility for you to pay at the venue by credit/debit card. However, cash will still be the preferred method of payment when this is implemented. Your help in this matter is appreciated.
